The inaugural season of the women's Indian premier league is about to begin. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the women’s IPL. BCCI has been planning to start the women’s version of IPL for a long time, but they couldn't start it due to various reasons. Finally, on 4 March 2023, the women’s IPL started the journey. The second edition will start on 23 February, 2024. The first match will be between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru at 7.30 pm. Five teams are taking part in the second season of women’s IPL. These teams are Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz. The inaugural auction for the women’s team was held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on 09 December, 2023.
