Prasidh Krishna Career Stats
Prasidh Krishna Indian Premier League Career
Prasidh Krishna made his IPL debut for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2018 and featured in 7 games, taking 10 wickets with a 4-wicket haul. Prasidh Krishna is coined as a "thinking cricketer" by Former KKR bowling coach Heath Streak, and for a good reason. Erstwhile KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik said at the post-match press conference, "I think Prasidh has been bowling consistently for us at the death; it was a straightforward decision to make." Prasidh Krishna's consistency caught Virat Kohli's attention and hinted at him as a possible 'surprise package' going into the T20I World Cup in Australia.
Prasidh's wicket-taking streak grabbed eyeballs during Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2018. The pacer bagged 17 wickets in 8 matches, becoming the second-highest wicket-taker. Prasidh has been clocking the 140 kmph mark and has yorkers up his sleeves, which has been quite lethal to the batters. His height (6'2") helps him extract extra bounce from the pitch and adds to the X-factors list. During the auction of IPL 2022 season 15, Prasidh's base price of INR 1 crore attracted bids from new teams, Lucknow SuperGiants and Gujarat Titans, who wanted him for his wicket-taking abilities. Rajasthan Royals eventually had to shell out a whopping INR 10 crore for Prasidh Krishna, who happens to be their biggest buy that season. In the IPL 2024 auction, Prasidh Krishna was retained by Rajasthan Royals for 10 crore.
