Mohammed Shami Ahmed is a right-arm fast bowler who plays for the Indian national cricket team, Bengal domestic cricket team, and the Gujarat Titans. Shami made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Pakistan in 2013. He bowled four maiden overs in his debut match. In 2013, Shami also made his Test debut. Mohammed Shami signed with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011. He played a single match for KKR and did not play in IPL till 2013. He played only three games for KKR in 2013. In IPL 2014 auction, Shami was signed by Delhi Daredevils. He played in 12 out of 14 matches during the 2014 season and took seven wickets. Even though Shami was retained, yet did not play a game the following season after being ruled out with a knee injury. Shami signed with Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2019 auction.
He took 19 wickets and registered his first IPL hat trick with 3/21 against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium. Shami was the side's leading wicket-taker.
