David Warner Career Stats
One of Australia’s finest opening batsmen, David Warner, has successfully proven himself in all three formats of cricket. Warner’s success is no surprise since he has shown the perfect combination of talent and skills from the beginning of his career. His debut in international cricket itself became a record as he was the first Australian cricketer in 132 years to receive a spot in the national team without playing a single First-Class match. David Warner World Cup Career Summary
David Warner was part of Australia’s winning squad for the Cricket World Cup 2015 and again for the Cricket World Cup 2019 team. During the two World Cups, he has played 18 matches, and his performance has been remarkable. With an aggressive batting style, Warner scored significant runs, including multiple boundaries. His striking rate of 133.83 helped to ensure Australia’s win in 2015. Despite Australia’s exit from 2019’s World Cup semi-finals, Warner’s performance was greatly appreciated.
Warner has rarely failed to impress. His ODI and Test debuts, quickly followed by his T20I debut, were equally excellent. Furthermore, the 123 runs in his second-ever Test match were career-defining. The lowest points of his career were his suspension in 2013 due to an unfortunate event involving English cricketer Joe Root and another ban followed by a ball-tampering scandal in 2018. Irrespective of said disciplinary issues, Warner made strong comebacks both times. He continued contributing to his team and holding good ICC rankings in all formats.
