Aiden Markram Career Stats
Aiden Kyle Markram, the current captain of South India’s T20 squad, has often been termed the ‘next big thing’ for his country. Considering his aggressive nature of batting, many initially saw him as the replacement for AB de Villiers. Markram has done justice to the titles given to him on multiple occasions. However, his journey has not been entirely smooth so far! He enjoyed a quick and well-deserved rise to fame at the beginning of his career. Fans can proudly say that Markram brought South Africa its first-ever U-19 ICC World Cup trophy in 2014.
This World Cup-winning captain had a rough pitch ahead in his career. He made his international debut with good records. However, inconsistent performance soon became a common factor in Markram’s career. Injuries made the situation worse for him. It took some time to gain the experience and maturity much needed on the field, but Markram continued to work hard until he made a strong position in the national team. Unfortunately, South Africa ICC World Cup 2019 squad, which included Markram, couldn't reach the semi-final. The team is determined to claim the World Cup trophy in 2023, and everyone expects a great performance from Markram!
